A Guide to Writing a Note of Encouragement
Please read this guide before writing your note of encouragement so you know what to include and what to avoid.
Please include:
A few sentences of encouragement.
Words you would have wanted to hear on your darkest days.
Perhaps you could include things that you found helpful, or a phrase that you held on to during tough times.
Please avoid:
Any potentially upsetting details, that if writing about online you may mark with a “Trigger Warning”.
Any indentifying personal details about yourself, such as the town you live in, your children’s full names.
Any medical guidance or advice.
If you are writing your note of encouragement electronically, it will be sent to the recipient as written, bar the odd spelling mistake correction, so please ensure you are happy with it before submitting it. If there is something that is considered to go against the above guidance you will be contacted and given the opportunity to tweak what you have written.
